Japanese lamps of Groningen Zen Center are handcrafted of quality wood and Japanese handmade rice paper. The lamps are made by Tom van Dijk, who lived in Japan for years and worked on several woodworking projects.

The lamps are available as standing table and floor lamps, and as hanging ceiling and wall lamps. The lamps are available in two wood types: maple (light color) and walnut (dark color).  We offer several rectangular and round standard models, and ordering custom models is also possible.

Tom van Dijk

During his stay of five years in a Japanese Zen monastery Tom van Dijk (1982) worked on several woodworking project on the monastic terrain. The knowledge and skills he acquired there he uses these days for handcrafting Japanese floor, table, ceiling and wall lamps. He also gives Zen meditation classes at Groningen Zen Meditation Center.
